Seeking Live-In House Parents!

Peacock Acres is seeking mature, responsible live-in House Parents for our boys’ Group Home in rural Salinas. 

Can you benefit from receiving a live-in stipend and having some of your bills paid instead of paying rent? 

Do you want to make a positive difference in the lives of foster youth?

We are part of the 2011-2012 Birdies for Charity Campaign!

 We’re excited for the Birdies for Charity Shoot-Out Qualifier this Saturday! Learning Center Program Manager Tyler Steer will represent us to qualify for a chance to win an extra grant from Monterey Peninsula Foundation. Last year, participating charities walked away from the Charity Shoot-out with between $1000 and $30,000 in support of their programs! Good Luck Tyler, We’ll be there rooting for you!

Seeking Volunteer Drivers

We’re seeking responsible drivers to transfer youth ages 12-18 from their foster homes to The Learning Center in South Salinas. Our Learning Center provides individualized academic support and mentorship to foster youth in Monterey County from 8:00am to 6:00 pm throughout the week. Volunteer Drivers use our vehicles to transport youth from their foster homes to the Learning Center and back home again. Can you help?

  • Volunteers are required to pass a DOJ Fingerprint check
  • Must have clean driving record
  • Persons with professional driving experience encouraged to inquire!

Volunteers Needed!

We are always looking for volunteers to help make a difference in our kids’ lives. There are many ways that you can help! 

We’re currently seeking Volunteers for:

  • Tutors, Mentors, and Workshop Facilitators in our Learning Center for Foster Youth. If you have a passion for working with youth and want to help prepare students for their lives after foster care, we’re looking for you. Flexible hours. Contact tyler@peacockacres.org to get involved!
  • Event staff for annual occasions including Wine-tasting events, 5k Races, BBQ fundraisers and more! Contact jennifer@peacockacres.org to volunteer for an upcoming event.
  • Group Building and Maintenance projects- Have a group of individuals that want to help? Contact jennifer@peacockacres.org to inquire about helping us make improvements at our Group Home residences.
  • Crafting and Jewelry making- Interested in using your creativity for a good cause? We need help making feather earrings and accessories to sell in our Peacock Benefit Store. Contact jennifer@peacockacres.org to set up a time to come help!
